Virginia Dare St Clair Pettry
Virginia Dare St Clair Pettry went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2020, after a short illness.
Born October 15, 1924, in Pipestem, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Susanna (Lilly) St Clair. She was preceded in death by her husband C.D. Pettry, daughter Connie Sue Lamb and granddaughter Meghan Elise Lamb as well as all 11 of her siblings: 6 brothers Edward, Forrest, Earnest, Sampson, James & Lee St Clair and 5 sisters Nellie Farley, Pearl Farley, Grace Pittman, Ora Coleman & Hattie Law.
Virginia was a lifelong resident of Summers County and a member of Bellepoint Baptist Church in Hinton. She loved her family and the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart and soul. In later years, she attended Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem near her home.
Virginia is survived by her son David Pettry & wife Debra of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; 5 grandchildren: Melanie (Rob) Oliver of Scott Depot, WV; C.D. (CeCe) Pettry & Jonathan (Jessica) Pettry both of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; Zachary Lamb of Columbus, OH; and Corey Lamb of Princeton, WV; and 4 Great Grandchildren: Conner, Beatrice, Charlie & James.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at Cooks Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in Pettry Cemetery on Lick Creek Road, Pipestem. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bellepoint Baptist Church or Cooks Chapel Baptist Church.

Sorry we couldn't bring mom down for the funeral. Besides having to help our son, we didn't feel like she would be able to withstand the trip. The farthest she goes is to church. I know that you called her already, but please try to keep in touch. I don't do much e-mail any more, but I do have a smart phone. My number is 330 714-9943 if you need to get in touch.
